Lady Saints Rally Past Columbia-Greene

SARANAC LAKE — The North Country Community College women's basketball team did not play its best but played good enough down the stretch to defeat Columbia-Greene Community College 56-51 Sunday.

The Saints outscored the Twins 24-16 and overcame a 26-23 deficit at the half.

"We stuck together as a team," North Country coach Jerrad Dumont said. "We didn't play great. We looked tired as a team from (Saturday's) game, but we were able to be mentally tough and hit some tough shots late."

Leading North Country was Romeira Tucker (19) and Sydney Craig (18), who combined for 37 points and all seven of the Saints' 3-pointers.

Tanisha Edge (17) and Stacey Cherestal (10) finished in double figures for the Twins.

The Saints will hit the road to face Clinton Community College Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.
