Saints Dominate Cougars

The North Country Community College women's basketball team bounced back Wednesday.

After suffering their first loss on Saturday, the Saints defeated Clinton Community College 60-28.

Shaneika Smith paced No. 10 North Country with 14 points, while Courtney Boyea and Abbey LaPage both scored nine. Morgan Fountain and Brianna Burgess chipped in eight points apiece.

Clinton coach Brandon Siskavich said the Saints (17-1) hit a couple of early 3-pointers and then settled into their offense. They led 42-12 at halftime.

"They're a great team," Siskavich said. "They can shoot the three; they can score inside. They rebound and push the ball.

Sierra Snow led the Cougars (0-9) with 10 points. Bryce Douglass added eight, and Kristen Calkins tossed in seven.

"I thought that we came out ready to play in the first five minutes.  I also think that our team showed a lot of class throughout the game" Head Coach Jerrad Dumont stated after the game.

The Saints are home against Adironadack Community College on Friday at 7:00 PM.
