Saints win two on the road

The North Country Women's Basketball team were on the road all weekend long traveling to Corning Community College on Saturday and Finger Lakes Community College on Sunday.

On Saturday against Corning the Saints got into some early foul trouble but got a huge contribution from Abbey LaPage who came off the bench and scored 11 points.  At the Half against Corning the game was tied 30-30.  The Saints would finish the game 66-57 after a final bucket at the buzzer from Corning community college.

I thought that we played sluggish for our first road game, coach Dumont stated after the game.  "Our sophomores who scored 80 percent of our points, really showed the freshman what it was like to play a regional game and win on the road."

Sunday was a different story for the Saints basketball team as they beat Finger Lakes Community College 84-50.  The Saints got everyone in the game against Finger Lakes and really was able to maintain our lead throught.

After the game coach Dumont stated, "I thought that we came out with the right intensity on sunday which helped us to get an early lead on the Lakers, we really played tough and shared the ball the entire game".

The Saints finished the weekend 2-0 and will travel to Clinton Community College next weekend for games against Tompkins Cortland and Broome.
