Saints Come Up Short Against Mohawk

Saints Come Up Short Against Mohawk

In a battle of two unbeatens, itwas a game that lived up to expectations as the #10 Saints fell 3-1 to #4 Mohawk Valley

North Country got on the board first after Alyssa Summo converted a PK 19 minutes in.

Mohawk Valley got on the board with just under 20 minutes to go to send the game to the half knotted at one all.

"It was just a great first half. Very fun to watch. I thought our girls made a few more mistakes than usual, but I also think that comes from not having played a team that matches up so well." said Saints Coach Kent Eggleifield. "Mohawk was fast, physical, and very disciplined. It took us a while to adjust."

The second half got off to a very bad start as Mohawk scored the go ahead goal just 38 seconds in. It was the first time North Country had to play from behind all season. Mohawk added an insurance marker with 5 minutes left to secure their win.

Alison Van Schaik was once again fantastic in goal turning away 15 shots

The Saints return to action tomorrow afternoon on the road vs. Word of life at 3 pm.

Our GOAT of the gane is Averi Fields from Dexter, NY. Averi played a very solid game defensively and also saved two in front of the net. We are proud of your efforts Averi!
