Fountain leads Saints past Cougars

Morgan Fountain didn't cut the Clinton Community College women's soccer team a break Tuesday.

Fountain, a Malone native who is North Country Community College's all-time leading scorer, accounted for three goals as the Saints downed the Cougars 5-2.

Clinton tied the match midway through the second half with goals from Kiley Regan and Amanda Henrich.

But North Country rolled down the stretch, tallying three unanswered to pull away.

Chloe Remoundos added 2 goals, and Kylee Cassavaugh added 3 assists.

"We couldn't put a ball in the net if we had to at one point." Said Coach Kent Egglefield "Thank god after they tied it we woke up."

The Saints outshot Clinton 40-13. Jadeen Chisholm returned from her concussion and recorded 7 saves for the victory.

Next up for the Saints is the Region III tournament on Saturday. Site is to be determined, but the game will be against Mohawk Valley.

"Thats who we wanted to play and we got them. Time to put up now."
