Saints Men Get First Home Win Against Niagara

Saranac Lake- The Saints Men's team notched their first home win of the season with a 4-0 victory over Niagara on Saturday.

The Saints came out strong scoring in their first goal of the game within 5 minutes when Mathew Davey scored off a pass from Martin Garbonov.

The Saints would maintain possession for a majority of the half and struck again when Keith Vivlamore scored a volley off a cross from Garbonov ten minutes before halftime.

In the second half the Saints continued to create chances but could not capitalize on them right away. Halfway through the second half Kai Brown scored a header off a corner kick from Hayden Brimelow. Keith Vivlamore would score his second and the Saints final goal of the game off a pass from Garbonov.

"We played our game, and we played it well" Said Saints Coach Wayne Cowan " We possessed the ball and created a lot of opportunities, we just need to capitalize on those chances"

The Saints out shot Niagara 37-1; John Miller made one save for his first shutout of the season.

"Martin was very dangerous for us today creating most of our offense and distributing passes to his teammates, It was great to see Keith get on the score sheet, and having Kai get his goal after all the hard work he has put in was great. It was a good team win where everyone did what they needed to do and played together" Added Cowan
