Saranac Lake, NY- The North Country Community College men's basketball team, led by Head Coach Jerrad Dumont has announced the program's captains for the 2023-2024 season. The captains will be returning Point Guard Preston Bourda Jr.(Houma, LA) and returning shooting guard Jahmir Bloom (Rochester, NY).
"Throughout the preseason Preston and Jahmir have earned the respect of their teammates as well as the coaching staff. Their experiences from last season will be a tremendous asset in leading our young freshman team to new heights." Said Coach Dumont.
Last season, Bloom played in all 26 games for the Saints with 11 starts. He really came on strong at the end of the season, averaging 19 points per game over the last 7 games of the season.
Bourda played in 25 games last season, starting in 23 of them. He led the team in points per game with 16, shooting 45% from the floor and 35% from three-point range. He scored a career high 34 points in the team's victory against Onondaga CC on January 14th.
North Country opens their season on Friday November 3rd when they travel to Potterville, NY for a 5:00pm Tip- Off against Paul Smith's College. The Saints are in Saranac Lake for the home opener on Thursday November 9th as they welcome Fulton Montgomery CC for a 7:00p.m. tip off.
