LaDue reaches 200th with big road win over OCC

The Saints were able to come away with a big road victory.  Not only did the win give North Country a record above .500, but it also gave Saints' coach Chad LaDue his 200th-career victory.

Although getting to 200 wins is quite an accomplishment, LaDue wasn't overly concerned about himself, but rather the program as a whole.

"It was a great day for Saints basketball. To see my former player, and now my colleague, knock off the No. 3 team and for us to get our 200th win, it was a pretty good Saturday," LaDue said. "I would like to thank coach Roy, the rest of my staff and all of my players. It's really been a program thing and not anything that I've done."

After jumping out to a 42-36 lead at halftime, the Saints continued to press forward in the second half to pull out the 12-point victory.

For the game, North Country was led by Ivan Grcic and Randall Saintilus, who each tallied 19 points.

The Saints have one more game on the weekend as they square off against Cayuga Community College today at Cazenovia College, with tip-off slated for 2:30 p.m.

While LaDue isn't all too familiar with what kind of challenges Cayuga will present his team, North Country's head man is confident that the players can finish out the weekend strong.

"I thought the guys played really well," LaDue said. "It's going to be another test. I don't have a lot of info on them, but we're just hoping to put back-to-back performances like we did today."
