Dryden, NY- The North Country Saints offense had fallen into a bit of a funk in the last few weeks scoring only 4 goals in 4 games. That changed Friday night in a 5-0 victory over Tompkins-Cortland CC.
Alice Hanning and Emma Byl each scored twice, while Ella Rejiba added a goal and two assists. Hanning and Byl each added an assist also.
Byl opened the scoring early on a direct kick in the 4th minute and the Saints wouldn't look back.
"I was pleased with our offense today." stated Head Coach Kent Egglefield."We made a few position changes to get a spark going. They set the tone early and came out firing."
Firing is an understatement as the Saints outshot the Panthers 35-6.
Hannah Gaddor made 3 saves for her 5th shutout of the season.
GOAT of the Game
Our GOAT of the game for Tompkins-Cortland is sophomore captain Brionna Foster. Breezy moved from her striker position to midfield and and turned in her best effort of the season. She won all of the 50-50 balls she could get to and was a big part of the effort to shutout the Panthers. She also was a force offnesively creating several chnces for her teammates and showing great patience and and confidence. Breezy has 6 goals and 5 assists this season, and her leadership has been off the charts. We couldn't be prouder or happier for you Breezy! You deserve it!
