Lady Saints Topple Word of Life

Pottersville- Finally able to use their entire roster, the North Country Saints Women's Soccer team took down Word of Life Bible Institute 2-0 on Wednesday.

"It was by far our best and most complete game of the season", said Saints Head Coach Kent Egglefield. "We have started off strong in most of our games this year, but with limited substitutions to start the year, we haven't been able to finish how we start."

The Saints finally had all of their roster available to play for the first time this season due to injuries and scheduling conflicts.

After a physical back and forth first half, Franziska Moderegger scored the games first goal with just 16 seconds left in the half from 20 yards out on a feed from DaVyne Johnson. Moderegger would also score the insurance goal in the second half off a feed from newcomer Allie Huchro

"Franny dominated today." stated Egglefield. "She's finally settling in and getting more comfortable in her role. Our defenders, Riley Paschke, Cassidy Rushby, and Nattalya Browning were great as well."

Samantha Hayes turned aside 4 shots for her third shutout of the season.

With the win, the Saints improved to 3-4 on the season. They travel to New Jersey this weekend for a Saturday game with Middlesex CC.

Egglefield added, "We hope roster issues are behind us. We're in pretty good shape now I believe."

We've been a bit behind in posting with 10 games in our first 20 days, but we have kept the tradition alive...
