Saints Head to Region III Semi-Final

Saranac Lake- The North Country Saints Women's soccer team advanced to the Region III semi-final after taking down Adirondack CC in the regional quarter-finals 8-1.

Abby Hart opened the scoring just 1:37 into the game and the route was on. Alyssa Summo, Jackie Santamore, Mikenna Valentine, and Kate Kavanagh would all add first half markers to give the Saints a 5-0 halftime lead.

"I loved the way we came out and the intensity we carried throughout the half." said Head Coach Kent Egglefield. "I told them to bring the playoff mentality for 90 minutes and they did."

Mikenna Valentine scored all three Saints goals in the second half to complete her hattrick +1. The four goals moved her into the Region III scoring lead for the season.

ACC would score late and the Saints would finish up winning 8-1. Saints keeper Alison Van Schaik was taken out on the play and relieved by Valentine over the last 10 minutes.

Van Schaik made 5 saves in net and Valentine 2.

The Saints head to Broome CC for the Region III Semi-Finals Tuesday at 3pm.
