#10 Saints Win Rain-Shortened Tilt Over Jamestown

On a wet and windy afternoon in the North Country, the 10th ranked Lady Saints improved to 12-1 with a 4-0 victory over Jamestown CC. The game was called after 72 minutes due to thunder and lightning.

It was senior day, and the Saints struck early as senior captain Skyelin Bradford put the Saints up 1-0 on a feed from Abby Hart. That would stand as the only goal of the first half as the conditions and the Jayhawks goalkeeper continuously frustrated the Saints.

Things picked up in ther second half though as Carlijn van der Smeede drilled a direct kick from 25 yards out to the upper corner.

A few minutes later, Chloe Flannaghan took a Mikenna Valentine feed and drilled a shot from just inside the 18 for a 3-0 lead.

Valentine would cap off the scoring just before the stoppage as Flannaghan sent a cross into the box that was flicked on by Bradford to the far post where she was waiting.

Alison Van Schaik made just 3 stops in net, but with her 8th shutout of the season, broke the Saints single season shutout record.

"I am very happy for both Ali and the entire defense to get the record." saidn Head Coach Kent Egglefield. "They have worked so hard all season, especially learning a new formation, and deserve all the credit in the world."

Led by seniors Jennifer Dejung and Coryn Young, along with freshman Marie Sibbing, Audri Tehonica, Averi Fields, and Natasha Furzer, the Saints defense is ranked 5th in the nation surrendering .83 goals against per game. The Saints are also ranked 9th in the nation in scoring averaging over 6 gpg.

"That's a pretty good formula for winning."

With the win, the Saints senior class improves to an unbelievable 26-5-1 for their careers! Congratulations Emily, Sky, Coryn, and Jenny! We are so thankful for all of you!

The Saints close out the regular season tomorrow vs. #4 ranked Genesee at home. Game time is 1pm.

Our GOAT of the game today was senior Skyelin Bradford who registered a goal and an assist. She is the 4th leading scorer in the nation on the season. We are beyond proud of you Sky! We love you and thank you for everything you've done for this program!
