Saranac Lake- Playing their fourth game in six days, the North Country Saints women found a way to put together a solid second half to claim a hard fought 77-67 win over Broome Community College.
The Saints sputtered to score over the first 20 minutes of the game but still held a 33-30 lead at the half. After an even third quarter, North Country pulled away in the last stanza.
Alaysia Bradford scored 16 huge fourth quarter points, which included 5 three pointers in the last 7 minutes of the game.
Asya Williams led the Saints offense with 16 points off the bench. Dezhenae Stewart and Tanisha Smith did a great job giving the Saints a spark on defense, frustrating Broome's offense over the last 20 minutes of the ball game.
The win puts the Saints at a perfect 8-0 record to start the season with six division wins.
North Country will have the opportunity to close out the first semester with a 9-0 record as they take on Word of Life to close the semester on Friday the 16th at the Sparks Athletics Complex.
