Lady Saints Hold Off Vikings

Saranac Lake- The Saints played an up and down game Sunday, but held strong to defeat Hudson Valley 69-57.

Cor'niya Johnson scored a game-high 20 points and added 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Asya Williams added 12 points and 7 rebounds off the North Country bench.

"The game was a roller coaster," said Saints Coach Roger Long. "We went up double digits in the second third and fourth quarter, but Hudson Valley battled back every quarter to drop the lead to three multiple times."

"They were tough... they kept us off the offensive glass for most of the game and we have been thriving in that category," stated Long. "It seemed to slow us down a bit and we werent able to sustain any large runs for the course of the game."

Jateria Jackson had 12 rebounds for the Saints and Alaysia Bradford had 8 points, 5 assists, and 7 steals.

With the win NCCC improved to 4-0 on the season.

"I am proud that the women continue to battle every game and that we have gotten off to a great start at 4-0." continued Long. "Hopefully when we get back from Thanksgiving we can keep momentum in our favor."
