SARANAC LAKE — Noah Guitymoore poured in 26 points, but North Country Community College came up just short of upsetting Herkimer in men's basketball Saturday. The Saints lost 70-69 against the No. 1 team in the region.

"We had the ball in the end with the last opportunity to win the game," NCCC coach Chad LaDue said. "I'm extremely proud of how well our guys played. I'm just disappointed in the end they didn't get the rewards for the work they put in."

Guitymoore made six 3-pointers and Tyquan Pointer knocked down four (14 points). Justin Harley led Herkimer with 20 points.

Herkimer improved to 24-3. NCCC dropped to 20-10. Regionals begin Tuesday. Seedings are yet to be announced.
