SARANAC LAKE—Senior Michael Boyea and Freshman Matthew Gullotta have been named co-captains of the North Country Community College Men's Basketball team, it was announced by head coach Chad LaDue.
Boyea, a 5-11 guard from Chateaugay, NY (Chateaugay HS), is the Saints leading returning scorer after averaging 10.2 points last year. A starter last season, he played in all 28 games and led the team in minutes played and assists for the Saints in 2012-13.
Gullotta, a 6-2 forward from Southport, Queensland Australia (The Southport School), is new to the Saints this year and new to America, but made an immediate impact with his team leadership, hard work and positive attitude.
"Both Boyea and Gullotta have demonstrated a willingness to do anything for the team and anything to get better," said LaDue. "Both of them are quite deserving of this privilege and honor to represent our team."
The Men's Basketball team opens up their season at Mountain Valley Conference opponent and rival Clinton Community College on Wednesday, November 6th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
