Saints Suspend Athletics for Fall 2020

Saints Suspend Athletics for Fall 2020

Dear Saints,

North Country Community College will open for the Fall 2020 academic semester with a mostly remote and some on-campus courses, and in compliance with required and recommended health and safety protocols for the academic setting.

Unfortunately, due to the challenges created by the COVID-19 outbreak and to protect the health and safety of our students and North Country Community Colleges campus community, the College has made the difficult decision to suspend all athletic competition for the fall 2020 semester.  This decision will affect men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball, which is in line with decisions from other colleges within Region III. Decisions about winter and spring athletic programs will be made in the future based on the latest health and safety guidelines available at those times.  We are working with Region III on a plan to see if we can move the fall sports seasons to the spring semester, if the health and safety guidelines allow.

At the core of every discussion surrounding athletics during these difficult times is the health, safety, and well-being of our athletes, coaches, staff, and our entire North Country Community College community.  I'm sure you share in my disappointment that we are not able to play, but know when the time comes for us to return, we will do so with a shared passion and dedication to excellence.

Saints, regardless of whether we play or not, we still have high expectations for all of you.  We are working diligently to develop remote support of your academic and athletic goals.  Our department and coaching staff will remain in contact with you as we go through this difficult time together.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Sincerely,

Chad LaDue, Director of Athletics
