Saints Volleyball Shows Well in Opening POD

Saints Volleyball started the season on Sept. 9 by topping the leader board in Service Aces per set among the 18 teams in Region 3. Setter Rebecca Reyes took first place for the week, landing 17 aces in over three matches. Katie Burgess earned third with her 13 aces. This translated to #6 & #10 in the nation.

The Saints fell 0:3 against Finger Lakes CC with scores of 18-25, 20-25 & 11-25.

In the match against powerhouse Monroe CC (ranked #10 nationally), the Saints lost in three with scores of 10-25; 15-25; 1-25.

The final match was 1:3 for the Saints vs Genesee CC. Scores 25-22; 24-26; 23-25 & 19-25. Again, serving streaks made the Saints competitive against the opponent's deep bench and tall roster.

Reyes was the top scorer with 24 pts, 7 kills and 16 assists.

Setter/OH Anganese Gomez had 18 pts, 16 kills, 15 dig and 18 assists.
