Saints lose Tough Match to Vikings

TROY — Starting slow is one of the worst things a team can do.

North Country Community College fell down by 20 points in the first half in a 100-96 loss to Hudson Valley Community College in Region III men's basketball Monday.

The Saints fought back to get themselves back in the game, but couldn't close the gap.

"We fought back and got it to seven at the half," North Country coach Chad LaDue said. "We had possessions to tie it up, but we just fell short."

Frane Larose led all scorers with 32 points. Noah Guitymoore followed with 20 of his own.

Brian Donaire banked in 19 points, while Peyton McLaurin contributed 16.

Jordan Nelson led the Vikings with 20 points, and Kabongo Ngalakulondi and John Palmer had 16 to push Hudson Valley to victory.

"We need to start getting confidence," Ladue said. "We need to start sharing the ball and playing for each other."
