Saranac Lake- The North Country Saints Soccer team split a big weekend home series upsetting Onondaga CC 2-1 Saturday before running out of gas on Sunday falling 3-1 to Hudson Valley CC.
On Saturday, Alicia Cook tallied twice, both assisted by Tameka Patch. Anna Thrasher turned aside 8 shots picking up the win in goal.
"That was a big win for us Saturday," said Saints Coach Kent Egglefield. "It truly showed what we're capable of."
On Sunday, The Saints came out flat falling behind 3-0 at the half to Hudson Valley. Despite a strong second half, the Saints were unable to overcome their slow start and fell 3-1. Anna Thrasher turned aside 13 shots in a very strong effort in the goal.
The weekend brought the Saints to 7-5-1 on the season.
