Saints Women Open Season With Big Win Over JCC

The Saints opened their season today with a convincing win over Jamestown CC. Courtney Boyea opened the scoring for the Saints just 3:30 in on a feed from Morgan Fountain. Freshman Kodi Perkins made it 2-0 14 minutes before the half on another assist from Fountain. The second half opened with Fountain skipping a Boyea cross in front for Courtney Hosler to drive home for a 3-0 lead. The Jayhawks got on the board next when Noni Wheeler converted a direct kick making it a 3-1 game. The Saints answered back just 4 minutes later though when Abbey LaPage launched a beautiful shot from 25 yards out that bent over the keepers head. Jess Lawrence assisted. Perkins closed out the scoring just 2 minutes later taking a Tori Bennett feed and pounding it in. On the day the Saints outshot JCC 19-9. Shelby Egnaczyk played well in her NCCC debut turning aside 5 shots. Abby Barnes, Sarah Slattery, Ali Richards, and Abby Taylor were all standouts defensively. The Saints travel to Cayuga CC next Saturday and Tompkins-Cortland CC on Sunday.
