Saints Lacrosse Drops a Pair to Genesee

Batavia- The Saints Women's Lacrosse teams dropped a pair of hard fought games to Genesee CC over the weekend falling 10-9 in overtime on Saturday and then 13-6 on Sunday.

On Saturday, Ty Taylor scored 5 goals while Bailee Gauthier added 2, and Kara Davis and Nidia DeArmaYero added 1 each. DeArmaYero also added 3 assists and Colby Reynolds added 2. Olivia Woolheater was outstanding in goal recording 15 saves. The Saints also again received standout performances from their defense.

"We let this game get away", said Saints Coach Kent Egglefield. "We had a 9-5 lead midway throught the second and just couldn't hold on. The only time they led in the game was the last shot."

On Sunday, in miserable cold and raining conditions, the Saints again fell 13-6 to the Cougars. Nidia DeArmaYero had 3 goals and 2 assists for the Saints while Rebecca Brandal, Bailee Gauthier, and Mikaela Bessette each tallied once. Rosie Bamber and Olivia Woolheater combined to make 14 saves in the Saints net.

The Saints have a long layoff before hosting the Erie Kats Saturday and Sunday April 27 & 28. Games are at 5pm and 12pm respectively.
