Saints Lax Falls to Jefferson

The North Country Saints Women's Lacrosse team was overcome Thursday night by both a monsoon and the scoring of JCC's Kia Morgia-Horning. Morgia-Horning tallied Jefferson's first 8 goals of the game en route to a 17-3 win.

"She was pretty dominant and we didn't have much of an answer at first for her." Saints Coach Kent Egglefield stated. "But after the start I thought we settled down and got to playing much better."

Laura Stanton and Jade Larkins would score first half goals for NCCC while Jadeen Chisholm scored in the second half. Yvette Santana and Jasmin Barnes eached picked up assists. Windy Derushia started in goal making 5 saves while Abby Cowan came in for the second half and recorded 7.

"There were a lot of positives from this game." stated Egglefield. "Our goalies were fantastic, we controlled a lot of ground balls, and our defense really played tight in the second half. We had a few more chances to score that we couldn't quite capitalize on too. Being a second year program, we'll take moral victories for now. We're gaining."

The Saints are off until next week when they travel to Genesee CC on Saturday the 15th at 10am.
