Tim comes to North Country from Franklin Academy where he served as the assistant boy's varsity basketball coach. In his five seasons there, Tim was responsible for practice/game management, scouting/film management, player development, sports information, and assisting in the overall operations of the boy's basketball program. At Franklin Academy, Tim assisted the team in 74 wins and 19 losses with two Section X Championships in the last two seasons.

Before Franklin Academy, Tim was the head girl's varsity basketball coach at Potsdam Central School District where he led the team to one of its most successful seasons in the last ten years.

During the 2014-2015 basketball season, Tim was an assistant coach for the men's basketball team at SUNY Canton where the team finished its season with an overall record of 16-6. At SUNY Canton, Tim was responsible for recruitment, practice/game management, and film management. 

Tim's other basketball coaching experiences include being a co-director of the Malone Youth Basketball League, coaching at Summer camps around the North Country for both boys and girls including St Lawrence University, Franklin Academy, SUNY Potsdam, and Chateaugay High School. Tim also has been the main coach for the boy's basketball Spring, Summer, and Fall teams in Malone.

Coach Lamay also serves as North Country's Head Women's Volleyball Coach. He holds a bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness Promotion, Business Concentration from SUNY Canton and an associate's degree in liberal arts from NCCC.
