SARANAC LAKE — Emily Sheets (29) and Jasmine Cruse (21) combined for 50 points as the North Country Community College women's basketball team topped Onondaga Community College 79-71 in Region III play Saturday.
Cruse and Sheets each finished with double-doubles, adding 21 and 16 rebounds, respectively.
"Rebounding and sharing the ball were the two biggest things for us," Saints coach Jerrad Dumont said. "We played them in a scrimmage earlier in the year and beat them by a couple points, and we were pretty confident heading into the game."
Dumont complimented the performance of Bridget Rust, who connected on four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, noting her ability to open up the floor on the offensive end for the rest of the team.
Elle Hodge totaled a team-high 23 points for the Lazers.
