North Country moves to 7-0

The North Country Community College women's basketball team moves to 7-0 for the first time under head coach Jerrad Dumont.  The Saints were supposed to host Tompkins Cortland and Broome over the weekend but had a craft fair at their facility so they had travel to play these home games at Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh.

The Saints opened the weekend on friday night at 5:00 PM against Tompkins Cortland Community College.  They started out with high intensity which led them to a 50-21 halftime lead before going on to win 84-50.

The Saints where led on Friday with four athletes in double figures.  Morgan Fountain (Malone, NY) led the way with 16 points which Courtney Boyea (Chateaugay, NY) followed closely with 15.  Vivencia Philippe(Miami, FL) and Abbey LaPage (North Bangor, NY) both also scored 10 points in the win.

On Saturday the game would be quite a bit different as Broome Community College would take on the Saints and really challenge them to rebound.  Although North Country held a 44-27 lead at the half, Broome did not let up the entire game.  "it seemed that the Hornets just kept coming. Everytime we would push the lead to 30 they would just go on a run of their own." Coach Dumont stated after the game.

The Saints of North Country would go on to beat Broome Community College 72-54.  The Saints were led by Simone Roberts with 24 points and 4 assists. Shaneika Smith was also a big contributor offensively with 13 points.

With these two victories the Saints moved to 7-0 on the season.  The Saints will take a week off for Thanksgiving break before getting back in the gym on December 1st.  The team will travel to play at Onondaga Community College on December 6th.
