Saint's Damon Hunter Becomes North Country's All-time Scoring Leader

Damon Hunter became North Country Community College's all-time leading scorer Saturday in a 99-82 win over Herkimer CC. Hunter, a sophomore from Lyons, NY, led the way, scoring a whopping 48 points while his parents watched in the stands. Heading into the game, Hunter needed 25 points to tie NCCC's men's career scoring mark of 1,246 points set by Steve Carder in 2013. Hunter got the job done in the opening half with a 27-point effort.

Hunter went on to add 21 points after halftime to boost his career total to 1,269 points with at least one more playoff game remaining on the schedule.

"Getting the points record, that honestly means a lot to me," Hunter continued. "It was a lot of hard work. Staying at the gym, putting shots up, it was just something I always worked for. I'm glad I was able to get this, and on this night, it was a big accomplishment. I'm just happy and I can't wait for playoffs. I feel like we're a good road team, and we won't be playing far from my hometown."
