Hunter Leads Saints Past the Panthers

DRYDEN — Damon Hunter's go-ahead 3-pointer with 18 seconds left supplied the North Country Community College men's basketball team with a 93-91 win over Tompkins Cortland Community College in Region III play Friday.

Hunter finished with a game-high 37 points on 14-of-30 shooting, and the Saints (7-1, 5-1) rallied from a 14-point deficit with 11:14 left in the second half.

North Country's Malik Wilkinson chipped in with 13 points and 19 rebounds.

"It was pretty intense game from both teams," Saints coach Daryl Crist said. "We really won the last 8 minutes.

"Damon's playing really good ball right now. He was just named Region III Athlete of the Week. He's got ice in his veins to make a last-minute shot like that."
