NCCC Cruises past Clinton

CHAMPLAIN — The Saints' defense and their ball movement on offense led to easy buckets as they cruised to a win over Clinton.

The Saints built a 60-32 lead at halftime, which North Country coach Chad LaDue said was a result of defensive pressure.

"Defensively in the first half we got out and pressured full-court, which led to transition offense," LaDue said. "Offensively, we shared the ball. We had three guys who got seven, 11 and 10 assists because we shared the basketball."

Frane Larose paced the Saints with a game-high 20 points as well as nine rebounds and eight assists. Peyton McLaurin recorded a triple-double with 18 points, 11 assists and 13 rebounds.

The Cougars were led by Michael Payne, who finished with 36 points.
