Donaire leads Saints past Schenectady

SCHENECTADY — Brian Donaire put up 25 points to lead all scorers and help the North Country Community College men's basketball team to a 76-66 win over Schenectady Community College on Saturday.

Saints coach Chad Ladue said the team played well.

"I thought we came out really well in the first, only giving up 20 points," Ladue said. "In the second half, at times, we let up and gave up easy points, but all in all we played well, and I am pleased to get the win, our 19th of the season."

.Ladue said the team didn't shoot great, but there were a lot of positives from the game.

"I thought we defended well and shared the ball extremely well," Ladue said. "We made 11 threes, but I don't think we shot extremely well."

Peyton McLaurin was the other top scorer for North Country, hitting for 18 points. Noah Guitymoore added eight points.

The Royals were led by DeVaugh Jordan, with 21 points, and Chanse Watson, who hit 19.

The Saints are now 19-9. They have three games left will host Delhi at 3 p.m. today.
