Saints take a step back

PLATTSBURGH — The Saints dug themselves a 14-point hole at the halftime break.

"You know, I just didn't have them focused and ready to go," North Country coach Chad LaDue said. "We had a nice win (Friday), and I think we maybe felt a little too good about ourselves. That's on me.  "I didn't have them focused enough to play at that level back-to-back nights."  The Saints got to within five points with 2:20 remaining in the second half, but had their comeback fall short.  "I was pleased with the fact that the guys played all the way to the end," LaDue said. "But we just have to do a little better job being mentally tough and focused.  "I didn't think we shared the basketball like our teams do."

Frane Larose had a game-high 24 points, while Randall Saintilus added 19 points in the setback.  North Country will return from Thanksgiving break when it visits Onondaga Community College Dec. 6.  "They're going to get four, five days to get away from basketball and then regroup," LaDue said
