Saints fall short

The North Country Community College Men's Basketball team fell short of a weekend sweep at Chateaugay Central School with a tough loss to Finger Lakes Community College by a score of 79-73.

Michaeal Boyea and Matthew Gullotta both paced the Saints with 12 points apices. Ege Cinel and Thomas Barnes both chipped in with 11 points each respectively.

Coach LaDue stated, "I liked the fight we put up and the determination of the team, but we just couldn't get out of the hole we dug ourselves in the first half and early in the second half. We were really cold and couldn't get our shots to drop—we went 10-32 from the 3-point line. We hit some big three's to get us within six points, but couldn't quite close the gap. Congratulations to Finger Lakes, they are a very well coached and good team."

The Saints will travel to the Southern Tier for an extended road trip this weekend. North Country faces Elmira on Thursday, November 21st and Region III opponents Broome CC and Tompkins Cortland CC Saturday and Sunday.
