Al Miller

If you know Al Miller, you think of hard work, dedication, team spirit and most importantly, his ability to will his team to victory. Al attended North Country Community College from 2005 to 2007 and over his two year career he accomplished a number of accolades.

To start, Al is the only player to ever be named Most Valuable Player of the Northern Independence Conference in consecutive seasons.  In his sophomore year, he led the Saints to a number 2 national ranking, their highest national ranking in school history.  In two seasons with the Saints, he scored a total of 1016 points which makes him the all-time leading scorer in North Country Men’s Basketball history.   462 of these points came from behind the three-point line which gives him a total of 154 three-pointers in his career at North Country.

Al was the true meaning of a leader.  Whether he was hitting game winning shots against Clinton or Onondaga, or taking responsibility for making one of his rare turnovers, he always led his team by taking responsibility for his actions.  There is no one Coach LaDue would rather have with the ball in his hands at the end of a game than #11.

Once he finished his outstanding career here at North Country he accepted a NCAA Division II scholarship to Notre Dame College in Ohio.  At Notre Dame Al was a two year starter and in his senior year was selected to the All Conference Team.

Today Al resides in Fort Pierce Florida with his son EJ.

Coach Chad LaDue stated “it is with great honor that I was able to coach Al Miller for two seasons at North Country.  I am also very happy to say that we are still a big part of each other’s lives.”
