Anne Slattery was the pioneer for women's basketball in the Champlain Valley. Before Julie Moore, Missy West and Courtney Coryea simply put there was Anne Slattery!

During her high school career at Moriah Central School she was a Three Time Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a member of the New York State 1,000 point club finishing her career with 1,328 points.

While at North Country she was twice selected to the Region III All Star Team, and All American in the 1981-1982 season. Anne then completed her career at SUNY-Plattsburgh being selected as the FIRST SUNYAC Women's Basketball Player of the year. It may be noted that she was also the first player, male or female, from the North Country to be selected to the Empire State Games Adirondack open team. During her college playing days she was selected as captain three times and amassed 1,528 points.

More importantly Anne was a scholar-athlete at North Country and SUNY-Plattsburgh. She is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society that is the highest mark of distinction and honor. Anne was also honored by the SUNY-Plattsburgh Athletic Department with her induction into the Cardinal Hall of Fame in 1996!!
